sam harris (they/them) is a queer lighting designer and console programmer who specializes in live performance and installation work. they love to collaborate with all kinds of makers to create meaningful experiences and productions

as a designer, sam is passionate about the importance of dramaturgy and purposeful, collaborative world building in their work. they love new work, queer stories, temporality, stories of fate, designing for music, and playing with angles.

as a programmer, sam works primarily with ETC’s EOS family consoles, and enjoys developing shared language with designers and other collaborators. they’re always up for a challenge, and love to find the creative ways through and around design ideas.

sam holds a B.A. in Theater and Performance Design from Wesleyan University, where they were the recipient of the Rachel Henderson Theater Prize. they currently work at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School as a theater technician, designer, and ultimate frisbee coach.
